NEW YORK, NY, February 20, 2024 – Today, Jewish on Campus (JOC), a student-powered organization advocating for Jewish students, and ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), the world’s leading anti-hate organization, announced a new partnership to leverage the strengths of both organizations to better meet the needs of Jewish students as antisemitism rises.
The new partnership will include a series of co-created educational sessions and resources for JOC student leaders, focused on antisemitism and Jewish communal leadership. The two organizations will collaborate on co-sponsored national events with a shared goal to combat antisemitism on college campuses through education, training and increased reporting and response to antisemitic incidents.
“We are thrilled to embark on this transformative national partnership with Jewish on Campus, a dynamic collaboration that underscores our shared commitment to combating antisemitism on campus,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “Together, we are poised to unlock a wealth of opportunities, fostering an environment of understanding, tolerance, and unity. Through our collective efforts, we aim to empower the next generation with the tools to stand up against hate, promoting a campus culture that celebrates diversity and inclusivity.”
Julia Jassey, co-founder and CEO of Jewish on Campus, added, “Jewish students are facing a new level of hate on campus, and our collaboration with ADL will equip JOC student leaders across the country with new resources to further their advocacy on campus. Jewish students cannot look away from antisemitism on campus, so it is essential that college and university administrators do not look away either. Our new partnership with ADL will not only help hold leaders accountable to protecting Jewish students, but also foster the positive climate on campus that all students deserve.”
The partnership comes weeks ahead of ADL’s Never is Now Summit, the world’s largest summit on antisemitism and hate, which will feature JOC student leaders from across the country and include remarks from Jassey.
